About the role

We are looking for an intern to support Catawiki’s Communications team on a 6 month contract. As our Comms Intern, you will assist on Consumer and Corporate Communications initiatives as well as on the general day-to-day running of the busy Catawiki press office. Reporting into our Consumer and Corporate Communications Managers, this role involves seamlessly shifting from supporting the drafting pitches and press releases to supporting engaging media outlets on a wide variety of projects, from company-focused stories and updates to brand activations to supporting high-visibility cross-functional marketing campaigns. Using data in storytelling, reporting on daily coverage and supporting the day-to-day management of the company's corporate social channels are also part of the role.

What you’ll do

  • Support in the handling of media enquiries, including involving relevant team members and supporting on any information required
  • Support the Comms team with writing news releases and media pitches, social media posts, helping to secure top tier media coverage for Catawiki 
  • Support with the daily management of our 5 local PR agencies
  • Managing the online media centre – uploading all relevant content in a timely appropriate fashion
  • General support to the team on day-to-day logistics, such as meeting arrangements, general operations, tracking daily coverage, reporting, etc.
  • Support with ideation/ brainstorming sessions and proactive communications campaigns across consumer and corporate 
  • Assisting on reactive media issues management, as well as developing statements, FAQs, interview briefings and other content 
  • Helping on managing our corporate social media channels

What you’ll bring

  • Degree level, ideally in communications, journalism or PR - or previous comms work experience at a media outlet, PR agency or brand - essential
  • Excellent writing skills (English) and strong verbal communication skills - essential
  • Knowledge of a wide range of new and traditional media and social media outlets  – essential
  • Competent on Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint - G Suite - essential
  • Incredibly passionate about our mission and goals
  • Creativity, an innovator and an ability to think big 
  • Hard working, hands-on and pressure resistant. Can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves, dive deep and get the job done in a fast changing environment
  • We are looking for you to start as soon as possible 
  • Bilingual in French, Italian, German, Dutch or Spanish is a plus

Our offices and new way of working

We’ve embraced an activity-based way of working, meaning our team can choose how they split their work week between home and the office, in line with our remote framework and guidelines. In locations where we have physical offices, most employees enjoy two days at the office to connect and collaborate with each other.

Our experts and sales staff in local markets work 100% remotely – in most cases from home. Some key positions are hired remotely, while we also offer relocation services for colleagues needing to be closer to the office.
