About the role

Catawiki is looking for a Master Data Design & Implementation specialist to join our Commercial Operations team. In this position you will work together with our Taxonomy Specialist and Business stakeholders to maintain the quality of our product master data and partner closely with our Tech teams to implement the optimal master data structure. As the subject matter expert for our master data structure, you will support key initiatives and requests from key stakeholders, including day-to-day data updates.

Your key objectives

  • Ensure timely and correct execution of master data setup, update/cleanup
  • Drive optimal data organization/setup to allow scalable maintenance processes and fast responsiveness to business needs

What you’ll do

Data Maintenance

  • Understand functional configuration and data structures
  • Maintain product master data (incl. object data and object attribute data)
  • Develop efficient data maintenance processes to ensure quality and consistency
  • Coordinate and support data clean-up activities in source systems in collaboration with DS & Tech teams and category/SME stakeholders
  • Execute data validations Pre and Post updates to ensure consistent quality
  • If needed, help manage the curation master data requests received through our Service desk, incl. auction/ category tree, Standard Replies, Disclaimers

Documentation

  • Develop and maintain documentation for master data structure, respective configuration and application across systems
  • Inform and align updates to product data structure with relevant cross functional stakeholders 

Design for optimization

  • Participate in data mapping and design workshops to optimise our curation and object master data structure in line with business and technical needs
  • Design master data setup for effectiveness and scalability in collaboration with members from our Tech Data Architecture and DS teams.
  • Suggest to Product & Tech stakeholders changes in the architecture to maintain ontology structure and linked data (object based thresholds) in most effective & scalable manner
  • Provide input for Product & Tech on usability (e.g. which field should be filled in first) considering setup requirements and data dependencies
  • Collaborate with our Tech teams to drive optimization of back–end Admin tooling, BAU & request processes and dashboards for data quality auditing

 

What you’ll bring

    • Bachelors or higher in Computer Science or related field or equivalent level by proven experience
    • Experience in maintaining, managing and optimising product master data that used across an e-commerce platform, such as product catalog and product attribute data
    • Actively participated in or driven decision making processes for optimising master data
    • Proven work experience in driving data quality and data cleansing activities 
    • Good understanding of data structures and data maintenance processes in business applications

    • Ability to interpret technical requirements

    • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to co-workers

    • Familiarity with Agile ways of working

    • Consistent capability to independently manage workload and schedule

    • Working in a structured and methodical way is your second nature
    • Ability to translate insights into relevant sizeable actions
    • Comfortable to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment

Our offices and new way of working

We’ve embraced an activity-based way of working, meaning our team can choose how they split their work week between home and the office, in line with our remote framework and guidelines. In locations where we have physical offices, most employees enjoy two days at the office to connect and collaborate with each other.

Our experts and sales staff in local markets work 100% remotely – in most cases from home. Some key positions are hired remotely, while we also offer relocation services for colleagues needing to be closer to the office.
