About the role

As the Sr Director of People Operations and Reward you will be responsible for leading all operational areas within the People Function, this includes payroll, benefits, rewards & compensation (across all countries that Catawiki operates in), our systems, data and related People Operations Projects and goals. 

As part of the broader People Team Leadership Team you will report to the Chief People Officer and will work alongside the leads within our People Business Partnering, the Talent Acquisition teams, the People Growth & Experience and the broader Leadership Team across Catawiki. You will manage the People Operations Team and partner with the CPO to set and drive the strategic vision and projects of the People Operations & Reward function.

The People Operations team is the building block of our People function, with strong, robust and efficient operations we grow our partnerships with the business and create a meaningful employee experience. We are in the middle of a transformation of our HRIS practices and leadership is required to optimize the foundations for growth.

As the lead for the People Operations team, you will deeply understand how Catawiki operates, the business, the strategy and the (people) dynamics. You will use this insight and knowledge to partner with the wider people team and business leaders to build and drive a robust people operations team and function that enables the business and our people to achieve ambitious goals. You are able to build credible and respectful relationships with employees of all levels.  

You will input into the overall people agenda and strategy, and drive this end to end. In addition to partnering with the people team and business leaders, this role partners closely with our Finance, Reporting and Legal Functions as well as Data analytics (internally and externally).

What you’ll do 

People Operations: 

  • Define and own the strategic roadmap for the People Operations function with focus on HR IS systems improvement and automation
  • Identify and drive efficiencies, automation and digitisation across all people operations processes and ways of working Ensure full compliance on employee legislation across all Catawiki entities and manage proactive gathering of data and legal insights to evolve our Rewards Strategy
  • Ensure overall compliance on payroll / tax / audit as well as ESG audits from a people perspective 
  • Move-in Sync across the People Team to optimise employee processes and drive a best-in-class employee experience that is focused on self-service and seamless access of data
  • Coach, advise and share knowledge with the wider People Operations Team on appropriate areas across our entitles
  • Understand the value of people insights in business decisions and improve data analytics and report generation to better support business leaders

Reward:

  • Roll out , evolve and communicate an overall Rewards strategy across all Catawiki entities. Important here is also creating visibility across the organisation of the various comp&ben offerings we have and work with CPO and Finance as well as external partners to evolve them in a way that they support and strengthen our Employee Value Proposition
  • Structural benchmarking of roles and salaries and communication of criteria for regular updates

Who you are 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within an international and fast-growing organization in a people operations role with focus on HRIS and automation
  • Experience of working with and implementing benefits inside and outside of NL
  • Experience mapping out and implementing HR vision and strategy 
  • Demonstrable experience optimising and automating people operations processes
  • Experience with Workday implementation/optimisation as well as integrations between Workday and other platforms
  • Experience working with a remote workforce
  • A love for data, numbers and strong analytical skills as well as being digitally keen (‘be geeky’)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive and solution-focused mentality, willingness to go the extra mile
  • Fluent in English to a professional business level

Our offices and new way of working

We’ve embraced an activity-based way of working, meaning our team can choose how they split their work week between home and the office, in line with our remote framework and guidelines. In locations where we have physical offices, most employees enjoy two days at the office to connect and collaborate with each other.

Our experts and sales staff in local markets work 100% remotely – in most cases from home. Some key positions are hired remotely, while we also offer relocation services for colleagues needing to be closer to the office.
