Senior Recruiter - Business

Who we are

A piece of the moon, a complete dinosaur skeleton, the Pope's hat, the world's smallest book - at Catawiki, we come across exceptional objects such as these every day.

Catawiki is the leading online marketplace to buy and sell special objects. We offer over 75,000 special objects in auction every week — each reviewed and selected by one of Catawiki’s hundreds of in-house experts specialised in Art, Design, Jewellery, Fashion, Classic Cars, Collectables and many more.

We've sold 10 million unique items to date and it’s our mission to become the world’s most popular auction destination for special objects.

We’re an innovative, pioneering and fast-growing scale-up. If you think you can make a difference to our team, go ahead and apply.

What you will do

As our Senior Business Recruiter you will lead the recruitment process and help us hire for core functions, with an initial focus on our central HQ functions (People, Commercial Operations, Finance) as we expand across Europe. You will search for candidates, conduct interviews and manage the recruitment process from end to end, proactively making improvements along the way. What makes the role particularly interesting is the focus on finding people looking to create impact, scale operations and get their hands dirty.

You will find, target and approach the best profiles, making Catawiki stand-out from the crowd. Next to this, you’ll also be responsible for helping to further develop Catawiki’s employer brand, working creatively with the rest of the (awesome!) recruitment team on a mixture of short and long term projects aimed at increasing the quality of hire.

You will manage your own portfolio of vacancies, forming effective partnerships with hiring managers. As a business recruiter at Catawiki, you will become an important member of Catawiki’s People Team, contributing to initiatives that make Catawiki a destination of choice for the best and most relevant talent in the market. These initiatives will range from employer branding, to events, partnerships, process improvements and a whole lot more!

Who you are

In addition to having experience of successfully hiring in a fast paced working environment, it’s likely you’ll be excited about working in an international scale-up environment. Furthermore, you will:

  • Have relevant experience collaborating with hiring managers, coaching and advising them in order to effectively hire hard to fill roles.
  • Have experience of pro-actively sourcing for candidates. You'll be comfortable building boolean search strings and are by nature curious and invested in finding the best communities, tools and places to search for talent.
  • Be great at forming relationships with your stakeholders, from candidates to interviewers to hiring managers.
  • You thrive in start-up / scale-up environments and are motivated by being given a high level of ownership
  • Bonus points (but not essential) if you are multilingual. Our Core markets are NL, France, Germany, Italy and Spain but we also operate across wider Europe and Asia.

Our offices and new way of working

We’ve embraced an activity-based way of working, meaning our team can choose how they split their work week between home and the office, in line with our remote framework and guidelines. In locations where we have physical offices, most employees enjoy two days at the office to connect and collaborate with each other.

Our experts and sales staff in local markets work 100% remotely – in most cases from home. Some key positions are hired remotely, while we also offer relocation services for colleagues needing to be closer to the office.
