Senior UX Writer

Who we are

A piece of the moon, a complete dinosaur skeleton, the Pope's hat, the world's smallest book - at Catawiki, we come across exceptional objects such as these every day.

Catawiki is the leading online marketplace to buy and sell special objects. We offer over 75,000 special objects in auction every week — each reviewed and selected by one of Catawiki’s hundreds of in-house experts specialised in Art, Design, Jewellery, Fashion, Classic Cars, Collectables and many more.

We've sold 10 million unique items to date and it’s our mission to become the world’s most popular auction destination for special objects.

We’re an innovative, pioneering and fast-growing scale-up. If you think you can make a difference to our team, go ahead and apply.

Here’s Vicci, our UX Content Manager

“Working at Catawiki means talking about bonsai pruning techniques one minute and marvelling at vintage TV games the next. There’s no place quite like it. Our passion is unrivalled and you can see it in the way we work together and share our knowledge. As a UX Writer, you’ll collaborate across teams, helping to shape the voice of Catawiki. You’ll be directly involved in guiding users through the platform, while providing the little moments of delight that keep them coming back.”

How you'll make an impact

  • We’re looking for a talented and versatile UX Writer to help shape great experiences on Catawiki.
  • Your copy will guide buyers and sellers to effortlessly complete their goals; whether they’re looking to pay for their new vintage handbag or sell their coin collection to a passionate buyer.
  • Your copy will contribute to business goals by helping us deliver on our value proposition and moving the needle on key user and business metrics.
  • You’ll help ensure our copy is consistent across all touchpoints by collaborating with other UX Writers and the Brand team.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the go-to writer in your vertical, working on a wide range of content types including UI microcopy, FAQ articles and emails.
  • Create copy that is clear, concise, human and on-brand, with the aim of guiding users to effortlessly achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists and fellow UX Writers to create designs that meet user needs and help grow the business.
  • Validate and test your copy to make a tangible impact.
  • Create copy that’s optimised for transcreation and work with the Localisation team to ensure your copy is seamlessly localised for all our markets.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders across the company to advocate for the value of UX writing and ensure the Catawiki voice is used consistently across all touchpoints.

What you’ll bring

  • You’re passionate about UX and the power of copy in driving user and business goals.
  • You’re fluent in English with excellent written English skills.
  • You have 2+ years of experience writing UX copy in close collaboration with Designers.
  • You’re familiar with the UX design process and you make design decisions based on user insights.
  • You visualise the future of any product you’re working on and you write copy that scales.
  • You think holistically and excel at balancing the user, product and business contexts.
  • You’re a natural storyteller who can write simple copy about complicated processes.
  • You’re eager to continually learn and grow. But you also love to share your skills and mentor others.
  • You can explain the reasoning behind the copy you write and, where needed, can back it up with data.
  • Experience with user research and testing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Miro is a plus.
