About the role and team

Catawiki is building up its Strategy and Corporate Development Team; the head of the team reports directly into Catawiki’s CEO. This team is responsible for Catawiki’s Strategic planning, Corporate development, Market research and analysis, Strategic program management, and Investor / Board relations. The team is a landing ground for talented, high-potential future business leaders. We’re at the center of the action, defining the long term view and working across the company to bring that to reality! We are looking for an experienced Strategic Planning & Programs Senior Manager to join this team, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 

What you’ll do 

You will be in charge of 

  • Operationalizing Catawiki’s new Strategic Planning Process
  • Setting up and running our Quarterly and Monthly business reviews
  • Supporting in our (semi) annual planning
  • Driving strategic programs from conception through development, working across functions
  • Work across functions to define and track impact of most important strategic themes and projects
  • Define key questions and stakeholders for new company-wide initiatives;
  • Identify cross functional dependencies 
  • Identify metrics to know whether on / off track;
  • Define project milestones;
  • Define contribution to Catawiki’s objectives, and ability to track progress;
  • Prepare progress updates for senior stakeholders;
  • Manage risks and issues and take corrective measurements;
  • Identify and implement the most suitable program management tool(s);
  • Owning the agenda for Catawiki’s leadership team. This is currently done through quarterly sessions that balance business topics with leadership skill building. You also support preparation of Extended Management Team sessions as needed. 

Success for this role is 

  1. Ensure the strategic planning process is enabling Catawiki to run efficiently
  2. Make sure that company-wide programs deliver the expected impact that drives Catawiki’s ambitious profitable growth targets, in line with expected timelines
  3. Improving the engagement of Catawiki’s Leadership Team

What it takes to succeed in this role:

  • You build relationships with stakeholders from C-suite throughout the organization across all functions.
  • You have a good business acumen and understanding of ecommerce dynamics, and an appetite to learn those specific to Catawiki’s platform
  • You can take both an executive view of our top strategic priorities and go deep on content, understanding and helping to “debottleneck” challenges. 
  • You balance a light touch on process with an understanding of what is needed to track to ensure progress and impact

Who you are 

  • 6+ years experience in project / program management roles at tech companies, preferably consumer facing;
  • Proven track record in setting up best-in-class Business Processes, such as OGSMs or OKRs;
  • Proven track record in working with stakeholders at all levels, developing executive- and board-level communications and materials;
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), organization and stakeholder management skills;
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed on project content and thinking across functions and context;
  • Ability to both “dive deep” into workstream-level content and elevate thinking to executive level (project- and company-wide);
  • Experience with program management / planning tools;
  • Curiosity and a self-starter mindset. 
  • Experience in
  • ecommerce / online marketplaces is beneficial.
  • start-up or scale-ups with a proven track record to cope with ambiguity in a global or multi-country environment is a big plus. 
  • working directly with senior executives, including CEOs, is required.

As the Strategic Planning & Programs Senior Manager, you’ll report into the Head of Strategy & Corporate Development, who in turn reports into Catawiki’s CEO. This role is based in our Amsterdam office, in the Netherlands. We offer flexible working arrangements that reflect our hybrid working approach.

Our offices and new way of working

We’ve embraced an activity-based way of working, meaning our team can choose how they split their work week between home and the office, in line with our remote framework and guidelines. In locations where we have physical offices, most employees enjoy two days at the office to connect and collaborate with each other.

Our experts and sales staff in local markets work 100% remotely – in most cases from home. Some key positions are hired remotely, while we also offer relocation services for colleagues needing to be closer to the office.
