About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Operations & Payroll Specialist to join our People team. In this hybrid role, you’ll be the backbone of our employee lifecycle processes while also owning the accuracy and execution of our payroll operations. You will play a crucial part in creating a seamless employee experience for 700+ employees that work in different countries, ensuring compliance, driving efficiency and partnering cross-functionally with our wider HR, Finance and external providers.

What you’ll do

People Operations

  • Manage a full range of day-to-day employee life cycle processes, including on-/offboarding, issuing contracts and amendments, ad-hoc requests of employees and running scheduled reports.
  • Ensure our HR system is up to date and maintained accurately.
  • Maintain and improve operational documentation, including policies and SOPs.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee queries related to policies, benefits, leave etc.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor law regulations and CBAs. 
  • You will actively support the People Operations team in reducing administrative tasks via clearer processes and automation.

Payroll 

  • On a monthly basis, you are responsible for collecting all payroll data from internal departments, organizing and submitting to the local payroll provider in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review monthly payroll output reports to ensure (variable) data is processed correctly. 
  • Be the go-to person for all payroll related questions for our employees. 
  • Keep track of and ensure compliance regarding all local legislations.
  • Prepare and align with the Finance team on payroll reporting.
  • Work together with the People Operations Team to implement automating, innovation and any continuous improvements around the payroll processing and reporting.

 

What you’ll bring

  • 2-3 years of experience in People Operations, International Payroll or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of Dutch labor law and payroll other EU knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • High degree of integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-pace, international environment.
  • Proactive and solution-focused mentality, willingness to go the extra mile.
  • You are either based in Lisbon or willing to relocate.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means that you will be in the office 2 out of 5 days (40% of your working time) to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. That said, some roles may be an exception: if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.
