What you'll do

As People Business Partner you will partner with our business leaders, building successful, engaged and talented teams that are able to deliver on the ambitious functional business goals. You will provide full support on People initiatives and consistent advice and coaching regarding People practices. You are proactive, able to perform a wide variety of tasks and are passionate about adding value to both the business and the employee experience. You thrive on collaborative working and partnering, both at team level and within your supporting functions. 

You will report to the Senior Director People Business Partnering & Employee Relations and will be part of a team of the HR Business Partnering team, mainly based in our Amsterdam office.  We’re a hardworking close knit team who support, enable and learn from each other and have fun while doing so. 

You will:

  • Liaise with and guide business leaders to build high performing teams that deliver on their business goals;
  • Drive a wide variety of People processes and initiatives for your supporting; function(s), such as Talent development, Goal setting & Performance management, Employee relations, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Health & Wellbeing;
  • Improve existing and develop new relevant and effective People initiatives, policies and procedures;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the business, People trends and employment legislation and pro-actively use knowledge to provide excellent customer-focused, value added People consultancy;
  • Partner with the other People functions (Recruitment and People Operations), to contribute towards our people strategy and projects, and to ensure a best in class experience through the different stages of the employee lifecycle;
  • Provide ideas and suggestions for further development and growth of the People function.

What you'll bring

You have multiple years (min. 6-8) of experience in People in a dynamic high-paced environment. You are a great listener and communicator, have excellent stakeholder management skills and are sensitive to the dynamics of our organisation. Next to this, you:

  • Are a strategic and data driven thinker and worker;
  • Are an experienced advisor or business partner in a dynamic, commercial; international and fast-moving and changing company;
  • You have partnered with senior business leaders;
  • Have in-depth knowledge of people processes across the full employee lifecycle; (employee engagement, performance/talent management, coaching etc); 
  • Have extensive experience in Dutch labor law and regulations;
  • Have knowledge of and experience with working with a Works Council;
  • Are able to manage/drive company wide people projects;
  • Are able to build credible and respectful relationships with employees of all levels;
  • Are a self-starter, self-motivated and enthusiastic;
  • Are able to act with autonomy;
  • Are flexible, accommodating and with a positive approach;
  • Are able to take full accountability for own performance and development;
  • Are fluent in English, fluency in Dutch is beneficial. 

The following would be a plus

  • Experienced in international labor law (we operate in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, UK and Spain);
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment;
  • Creative thinker.

Our offices and way of working

We have sensational offices in Amsterdam, Groningen, Paris and our newest office in Lisbon. Most of our employees are within commutable distance of one of our office locations and enjoy a hybrid work model. This means we expect you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with each other. The exception is of course, if the job description specifically states that the role is 100% remote, as some experts and sales positions are.
