About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on shipping leader to help define and scale Catawiki’s logistics capabilities. This role is a newly created role, and a unique opportunity for someone with deep expertise in carrier partnerships, vendor negotiations, and logistics operations to shape our shipping vision and build a high-performing, collaborative logistics network.

You will be responsible for developing and managing our carrier and logistics partner ecosystem - ensuring competitive rates, performance excellence and strong, scalable relationships. In parallel, you will lead the design and implementation of our key shipping programs, policies and workflows, balancing cost efficiency, operational feasibility and customer satisfaction.

You’ll work closely with teams across Catawiki - Product, Commercial Operations, Finance, Legal, Customer Service - and with our external carrier and logistics partners to deliver a shipping experience that supports our commercial growth ambitions. For now, this is an individual contributor role with a clear path toward building and leading a team.Key Responsibilities

Carrier Strategy & Partnerships (50%)

  • Own and evolve Catawiki’s shipping strategy and roadmap
  • Build and manage a strong network of carrier and logistics partners across Europe and globally
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contractual agreements with shipping vendors
  • Establish long-term partnership models that enable innovation, cost savings and scale
  • Continuously evaluate partner performance against KPIs and SLAs
  • Benchmark against industry trends to identify opportunities for expansion or improvement

Operations: Policy, Process & Program Management (50%)

  • Develop and implement shipping policies that balance experience, cost and scalability
  • Improve workflows across seller onboarding, label generation, tracking and claims
  • Partner with tech teams to drive automation and integrations with logistics solutions
  • Design and deliver scalable programs such as Smart Shipping and carrier integrations
  • Define metrics and reporting systems to continuously monitor and optimize performance

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Commercial Operations, Finance amongst others
  • Act as the shipping domain expert, educating teams on industry best practices
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment to implement policies and improvements
  • Build the foundation for a future team, transitioning from IC to leadership

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years experience in shipping, carrier management or logistics operations
  • Demonstrated success building and managing strategic logistics partnerships
  • Deep knowledge of EU carrier networks and cross-border logistics
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in vendor negotiation and contract management
  • Track record in driving process improvement, program delivery and cost efficiency
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with logistics tech tools and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience managing or mentoring teams is a plus

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means we typically ask you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. Of course, if the job description specifies that the role is 100% remote—such as for certain expert or sales positions—then that arrangement will apply.
