About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic sales professional with a passion for both sales and art. As a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, you will take ownership of driving revenue growth by developing and managing new sellers on our platform. Your primary focus will be to prospect and onboard contemporary artists and art galleries in France and Belgium. Collaborating closely with Catawiki experts in Classical, Modern, and Contemporary Art, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating growth within this dynamic sector.

As an Art Sales Representative, you will report directly to the Senior Sales Lead within the Art Supercluster Sales team.

Our Art Sales Team is a group of highly driven professionals, including seven Key Account Managers and Business Developers across Europe. We are passionate about building strong relationships with art galleries and artists, leveraging our daily collaboration with in-house art experts to optimize and expand our reach.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will work with a high degree of autonomy and take initiative to:

  • Identify, prospect, and recruit new art sellers, enriching our platform with fresh supply and diverse offerings.
  • Cold call and email prospects daily, employing a proactive and energetic approach to pipeline building.
  • Guide and challenge sellers to meet performance KPIs, focusing on sell rate improvements and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Art Experts to source lots for auctions and launch single-seller auctions, driving category growth.
  • Develop and nurture strong seller relationships through regular calls, meetings, emails, and on-site visits.
  • Conduct business reviews with sellers, tailoring frequency to their size and potential, and using data-driven insights to drive impactful actions.
  • Strategically plan for medium- and long-term growth, aligning your initiatives with the global Art Strategy.

What you’ll bring

  • High energy and self-motivation, thriving in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Strong sales mindset, with a relentless focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Autonomous and proactive approach, capable of managing your pipeline and driving initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, with an analytical approach to sales performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at managing relationships with internal teams and external sellers.
  • Fluency in French and English, with internal communications conducted in English and external seller interactions in French.
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills, with an ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Based in or near Paris, with the flexibility to meet top sellers and work from our Paris office (75009) at least one full day per week.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides); experience with HubSpot is a plus.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Of course, if the job description specifies that the role is 100% remote—such as for certain expert or sales positions—then that arrangement will apply.
