Category Marketing Lead

At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Car, a Woolly Mammoth’s Skeleton, Lady Gaga's Jumpsuit or Usain Bolt’s running shoe, we encounter exceptional objects every day.

We're a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects! Each week we offer over 75,000 unique items in auction, carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 20 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by our core values:

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

About the role

As a Category Marketing Lead, you’ll be the strategic driver behind ensuring the business unit meets its marketing objectives. You won’t just support marketing initiatives, you’ll own them. From campaign strategy to execution, you will shape how we connect with our customers and help us realize our ambition of becoming the world’s most popular destination for special objects.

  • Leverage Data for Impact: Monitor and analyze category performance metrics (e.g., RGMV, ALV, RP sell rate). Translate insights into clear actions that fuel performance and category growth.
  • Lead the Marketing Calendar: Own and maintain the Supercluster marketing calendar, ensuring it aligns with commercial priorities and consumer trends.
  • Campaign Strategy & Execution: Partner with the Category Marketing Manager to co-develop, launch, and evaluate high-impact campaigns. Be proactive in testing new approaches and continuously optimizing performance.
  • Shape Merchandising Strategy: Use data to forecast demand trends and align supply accordingly. Collaborate closely with category teams to influence sourcing and inventory decisions.
  • Run Strategic Initiatives: Independently manage smaller-scale marketing and growth projects that support overarching cluster and company goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Strategic & Independent: You think big, act autonomously, and thrive on taking initiative.
  • Data-Driven: You know how to extract actionable insights from performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Strong Collaborator: You bring people together, communicate effectively, and align stakeholders behind shared goals.
  • Marketing Foundations: You bring 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Ambitious recent graduates with relevant backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
  • Growth-Minded: You’re eager to learn, adapt quickly, and excited by the opportunity to scale your impact as we grow.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. That said, some roles may be an exception: if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.
