Head of Creative

At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Car, a Woolly Mammoth’s Skeleton, Lady Gaga's Jumpsuit or Usain Bolt’s running shoe, we encounter exceptional objects every day.

We're a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects! Each week we offer over 75,000 unique items in auction, carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 20 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by our core values:

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

What you’ll do

  • Lead and Inspire a High-Performing Creative Team: Manage, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of designers, copywriters, and creative operations. Foster a strong internal culture while collaborating with external partners to scale quality creative output.
  • Build and Evolve the Catawiki Brand: Own and elevate our brand identity — visual, verbal, and strategic — ensuring consistency and quality across all touchpoints. Define brand guidelines and apply them rigorously across teams, formats, and markets.
  • Deliver 360° Campaigns That Drive Growth: Develop and execute integrated campaigns across CRM, Performance, Social, PR, and beyond. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure every creative asset delivers business impact and reinforces brand equity.
  • Translate Strategy into Creative That Performs: Turn complex business objectives and customer insights into compelling creative that cuts through. Ruthlessly prioritize work that drives brand awareness, engagement, and measurable ROI.
  • Champion Innovation and Scalable Creative Excellence: Continuously raise the creative bar by exploring new formats, technologies, and tools — with a big emphasis on AI-driven tools — to accelerate production, improve relevance, and stay ahead of industry trends.

The Head of Creative will report to the Director of Brand & Communications.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven Creative Leader: You bring 8+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams in fast-paced environments. You’ve thrived in lean, high-growth settings where budgets are limited and creative needs to deliver real business impact — ideally with a mix of in-house and agency experience.
  • Strategic Brand Thinker: You understand how to build, grow, and protect a brand — balancing long-term equity with short-term performance needs across multiple markets, audiences, and touchpoints.
  • Commercially Minded: You connect creative work to business outcomes, using data, insights, and KPIs to prioritize high-impact initiatives. You focus on ROI, not just reach, and know how to make creative highly impactful and deliver our business objectives.
  • 360° Campaign Builder: You have a strong track record of developing integrated campaigns that span CRM, social, performance, PR, and product surfaces — and know how to adapt and scale ideas across each while maintaining coherence.
  • Craft-Obsessed and Quality-Driven: You set a high bar for design, copy, and execution. You know how to scale quality without compromising creativity, and you care deeply about every detail — from concept to final output.
  • AI-Powered and Tech-Smart: You go beyond curiosity — you're hands-on with AI tools for design, copy, and motion, and use them to increase speed, efficiency, and quality. You lead by example in bringing innovation into the team’s daily work.
  • Collaborative and Influential: You thrive in cross-functional environments, building alignment and trust with marketing, product, brand, and leadership stakeholders. You know how to rally teams around creative ideas that serve broader goals.
  • Resilient and Resourceful: You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and limited resources. You move fast, make smart calls, and maintain creative integrity — even when the pressure’s on.

The role is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
