Your Mission

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of our products by building and maintaining automated testing solutions across web, mobile, and API platforms. Your work will enable fast, reliable feedback throughout the development lifecycle and support the delivery of high-quality software.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated end-to-end test suites for web applications, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and APIs.
  • Build and execute automated tests across multiple platforms to ensure consistent test coverage and quality reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar.
  • Collaborate with the Platform team to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid feedback on product quality.
  • Execute functional, regression, performance, and load testing for complex cross-platform workflows.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, providing clear feedback to developers and supporting timely fixes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in test automation across web, mobile (iOS and Android), and API testing using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Kotlin, TypeScript, Ruby, or similar, with a focus on test automation.
  • Experience automating RESTful API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
  • Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Experience building or extending scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing, including cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, with a strong understanding of QA methodologies and a collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate issues and drive quality improvements.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous improvement by evolving test automation practices and frameworks.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
