Catawiki is hiring a Senior Key Account Manager - Art with clear business development accountability to own, grow and convert a portfolio of strategic galleries, dealers and established artists across the Netherlands and Belgium. You will combine proactive seller acquisition, senior-level negotiation, hands-on seller development and small-team leadership to deliver measurable GMV, margin and lot-quality growth in the Amsterdam market.

Why you’ll love this role

Direct ownership of the Dutch / Belgian market: build relationships with leading Amsterdam galleries, national museum networks and market makers.

High-impact commercial autonomy: you will own your pipeline, structure single-seller auctions and propose commercial models for top-tier consignors.

Visible results: you will own KPIs that matter (GMV, single-seller auctions, conversion, lot quality) and present outcomes to senior leadership.

Market-facing role with resources: budget for fairs/events and travel to win strategic sellers.

Flat, direct culture: fast decision-making, clear responsibilities and the chance to shape Catawiki’s Art supply strategy in the Netherlands.

About the role

You are the primary commercial and business-development owner for priority Dutch sellers. Your mission is to increase supply of high-quality lots, convert prospects into strategic partners, structure high-value consignments, and scale seller performance through targeted commercial programmes and seller playbooks. You will work closely with Art Experts, Product, Marketing and Art leadership, represent Catawiki at sector events and travel within Europe as required.

What you’ll do: Account Management & Business Development

  • Own and grow a portfolio of strategic sellers in the Netherlands and Belgium: define medium - and long-term plans to hit GMV, margin and lot-quality targets.

  • Proactively source and convert high-value prospect sellers: market mapping, outbound outreach, in-person meetings and relationship building at fairs and events.

  • Manage pipeline and forecasting: prioritise high-impact opportunities and report expected revenue and conversion rates. You must be data-literate, able to independently pull, analyse and synthesise complex data to guide business development strategies.

  • Structure complex commercial proposals and negotiations: single-seller auctions, consignment terms and incentive models.

  • Create and deploy seller incentive programmes and promotions in partnership with Marketing to increase submissions and buyer conversion.

  • Collaborate with Art Experts on sourcing and lot selection; with Product to reduce friction; and with Marketing to amplify strategic campaigns.

  • Lead, coach and develop more junior team members: ensure execution excellence and strong sales spirit.

Who you are

  • Senior, experienced seller-facing professional with a proven track record of both growing GMV/revenue and acquiring new strategic sellers in the art, auction, gallery or luxury sectors.

  • Demonstrable success in outbound business development: pipeline creation, prospect conversion and structured onboarding.

  • Proven experience closing and managing complex commercial deals and negotiating at senior levels.

  • Experience managing or mentoring a small team or clear evidence of regular coaching and leadership of peers.

  • Data-literate: skilled at extracting actionable insights from metrics and turning them into commercial actions.

  • Strong communicator and influencer across functions and with senior stakeholders.

  • Based in Amsterdam or its immediate vicinity and able to work from the Amsterdam office on a hybrid basis. Willing to travel within Europe as required.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in an auction house, gallery network or luxury marketplace.
  • Track record in designing seller incentive programmes or seller playbooks.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot), data (e.g., LookerStudio) and Google Workspace.

Practical details & what we offer

  • Senior-level role with clear ownership of strategic accounts and business development in the Netherlands.

  • Competitive Netherlands-based package, pension contribution, holiday allowance and professional development support.

  • Budget to attend fairs, events and to build market relationships.

  • Hybrid working model with required 2-days-per-week office presence in Amsterdam

  • Opportunity to shape and scale Catawiki’s Art presence in a leading European market.
