About the role and team

We’re looking for a Trust & Safety Specialist to help safeguard Catawiki’s marketplace and strengthen user trust. In this role, you’ll conduct reviews and investigate high-risk users and content flagged by our detection systems or cross-functional teams, tackling cases such as fraudulent accounts, suspicious behaviour, potentially illegal or non-compliant objects and law enforcement requests. Beyond protection, you’ll also play a part in driving seller quality by guiding them toward stronger commercial performance.

You’ll be making accurate, high-volume decisions on a daily basis, investigating complex cases, and collaborating with teams across the business to resolve escalations effectively. Success in this role requires a sharp eye for patterns, a balance of speed and critical thinking, and a proactive mindset to help us continuously improve.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to grow, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping our marketplace safe and trustworthy.

What you’ll do

  • Review and investigate high-risk users and lots flagged by our internal automated systems and other Catawiki teams such as Customer Service, Experts, Security, Finance or Legal.
  • Handling large daily case volumes while making accurate and timely decisions, generally maintaining high quality standards.
  • Stay critical about the cases in review queues, escalating or suggesting improvements when processes or detection rules can be optimized.
  • Document suspicious patterns, account rings, and anomalies, and communicate findings clearly to colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Experts, and Legal to resolve escalations, ensuring the Trust & Safety perspective is well represented.
  • Follow established processes while maintaining a critical mindset, highlighting inefficiencies and proposing improvements when necessary.
  • Share insights and learnings within the team to help strengthen fraud and abuse detection systems.
  • Stay proactive in your development: remain curious, motivated, and eager to evolve with the role.

Who you are

  • 2–4 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Strong decision-making skills: able to balance speed and accuracy when reviewing large volumes of flagged cases.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes.
  • Strong communicator, able to explain Trust & Safety findings to colleagues in other teams and work toward shared solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Independent, self-driven, and motivated: you take ownership of your work and push initiatives forward.
  • Resilient, optimistic, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, SQL and data analysis experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce or online marketplace environments is an advantage.

Where you’ll be

This role is based in our Amsterdam office, in the Netherlands, and will report to the Trust & Support Operations Senior Manager.
