Your Mission

As a Minerals Expert within the Natural History & Finds category, you will strengthen the Minerals segment through high-quality curation, commercial growth, and strategic supply expansion.

You will combine deep mineral expertise with a strong commercial mindset to drive category performance, expand the global seller base, and contribute to cross-category collaboration within the Collectables Supercluster.

What You’ll Do

  • Curate high-quality, commercially attractive Minerals auctions, ensuring accuracy, authenticity, and strong presentation
  • Review titles, descriptions, images, and provide realistic market-based estimates to maximise buyer engagement
  • Maintain high standards of transparency and quality for both bidders and sellers
  • Expand and diversify supply by recruiting new sellers, reactivating inactive ones, and leveraging your industry network
  • Identify commercial opportunities such as rare specimens, mine-specific supply, and new subcategories
  • Lead category initiatives and projects, using data and market insights to shape strategy and improve processes
  • Collaborate with Sales, BD, Marketing, and cross-category experts to drive traffic, engagement, and growth

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep expertise in Minerals, including mineralogy, specimen quality, geological context, rarity, and market value
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the Mineral trade as a dealer, curator, collector, academic specialist, or commercial expert
  • Strong industry network of Mineral dealers, miners, collectors, and specialist suppliers
  • Commercial strength with experience in seller engagement, deal-making, auctions, or online marketplaces
  • Understanding of auction dynamics, online buyer behaviour, pricing strategies, and authenticity standards
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to shared category and cluster goals, with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Professional communication skills, digital fluency, and proficiency in English, additional languages are a plus

How We Work

  • Collaborate closely with Experts, Account Managers, BD, Marketing, and the Category Lead
  • Contribute to cross-category initiatives within the Collectables Supercluster
  • Use data and market insights to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Balance independent ownership with teamwork in a fast-paced digital environment

This is a 100% remote role and can based in any one of our established hubs in Europe.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
