About the role and team

Catawiki is building one of the most dynamic online destinations for exceptional objects. Our Galleries & Art Dealers Market division plays a central role in this ambition.We are seeking a proven leader with strong management and analytical skills to drive this category forward.

In this role, you’ll oversee a diverse international team of experts, ensuring that their specialized knowledge translates into scalable, high-quality offerings.Your mission is to design and execute a category strategy that delivers measurable growth, grounded in data insights, operational excellence, and strong cross-functional collaboration.You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Technology to optimize performance, improve user experience, and expand reach.

As part of Catawiki’s leadership community, you will also contribute to company-wide initiatives and innovation.This is a growth challenge for someone who thrives on turning strategy into impact and empowering teams to achieve ambitious goals.

What You’ll Do 

 • Own and evolve category strategy: Define and execute the Secondary Market strategy in line with Catawiki’s vision and business objectives, ensuring measurable impact.
Drive performance through data: Monitor and interpret key metrics (GMV, conversion, lot quality, buyer engagement) and translate insights into actionable improvements across pricing, selection, and operations.
Lead and develop a high-performing team: Provide clarity, coaching, and accountability to empower experts to deliver at scale and achieve clear, measurable outcomes.
Maximise seller relationships and growth: Partner with Sales to acquire, develop, and retain high-potential sellers, ensuring a consistent flow of quality supply.
Deliver operational excellence: Build processes that ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency while keeping customer experience at the center.
Collaborate cross-functionally for impact: Align with Marketing, Product, and Operations to launch initiatives, improve workflows, and expand global reach.

Who You Are 

 • Proven Leader: You have significant management experience, skilled at setting direction, building accountability, and developing high-performing teams.
Data-Driven Operator: You excel at turning data into insights, using metrics to steer strategy and execution. You are fluent in growth and efficiency levers such as GMV, seller contribution, and conversion.
Strategic and Commercial Thinker: You can balance short-term operational needs with long-term strategic growth goals.
Cross-Functional Influencer: Experienced in working across matrixed organisations, aligning diverse stakeholders behind shared objectives.
Clear Communicator: Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and partners internationally, with excellent English skills.
Quality and Customer Focused: You hold high standards for execution, user experience, and team delivery.

Where You’ll Be 

The role is preferably based in the Netherlands, Portugal, or France and supports relocation. Remote work within Europe may be considered, although this is less desirable.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. That said, some roles may be an exception: if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.
